Spontaneous Words

Words of wisdom are like cattle prods. The collected sayings join as fastened by nails, given by one shepherd.
Ecclesiastes 12:11 The Discussion Bible
Spontaneous Words

Always be ready, in the dark of night and the light of day,
When questions come knocking and words need a way—
Not planned to perfection, not scripted just right,
But ready in spirit and truth, shining God’s light.

Life doesn’t warn you what’s coming your way—
No schedule, no signal, no planned little play.
But God sees the ending, the start, and your dream.
He guides every stroke in the flow of his stream.

Now some folks are hasty. Impatient, they shout.
They leap before looking. They hurry to get out.
Their words tumble forward, untested, unclear.
They later regret what they spoke out of fear.

But those who are guided don’t stumble in pain.
Their timing is steady. Their words aren’t in vain.
They pause and they listen. They look and they see—
What’s needed now, and what ought not to be.

Impulsive is so noisy. It clamors and cries.
It pushes ahead without asking God whys.
But spontaneous souls… oh, they quietly flow,
With greater wisdom than they even know.

They’re tuned to God’s whisper, the nudge, and the breeze.
They speak when it’s time, and they rest when there’s ease.
They’re never in a panic to prove they are wise.
They trust his guidance, enjoying the surprise.

Jesus walked with a calm, steady pace,
Speaking truth in love, power, and grace.
He never rushed forward, yet was always there,
With words full of kindness and merciful care.

When you feel nervous, unsure what to say,
Remember God’s promise about the way:
The Spirit will teach you the words in that hour.
Not by your strength, it will be his own power.

Stay in his presence from morning till night.
Let thoughts be corrected and your heart set right.
Walk closely with God. Don’t scramble or strive.
Be ready in the Spirit—awake and alive.

Sometimes the wisest thing you can do
Is simply be silent and listen it through.
Not every moment is meant for your voice,
And knowing that truth is a powerful choice.

So walk in his leading. Be steady. Be true.
Let God shape what should flow though you.
For what seems spontaneous, simple, and free—
Is God at work, saying what’s meant to be.
